Building Skills for the Future

ConstructionSkills and the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) held the first in a series of Business Improvement Evenings in Northern Ireland last month.

Presentations on the evening were given by the Management and Leadership Network (MLN) and Building Control, on world class management and leadership skills and the new building regulations Parts F and L respectively. The evening was attended by a range of small construction businesses throughout Northern Ireland.

Karen Hunter, ConstructionSkills, commented, “Management and leadership skills are key to the development of a successful business and have been identified through the Sector Skills Agreement for Construction as a development priority for the industry in Northern Ireland. We are delighted to work with the FMB and the MLN to help small construction businesses to develop their capabilities in these areas.”

Maire Devlin, FMB, remarked, “Understanding and complying with the new building regulations is essential for the construction industry. FMB in partnership with ConstructionSkills will continue to promote best practice throughout the industry.”
