ConstructionSkills’ 2008 Open Meeting

2007 has seen major milestones in the ConstructionSkills’ mission to deliver a fully skilled, safe, productive and professional UK construction workforce. Major highlights include the start of the National Skills Academy for Construction roll out, with eight sites established and another fifty in the pipeline, the launch of Programme Led Apprenticeships and the increase in Inspire Scholarships to three hundred university students matched with employers.

ConstructionSkills also held its first Open Meeting in 2007 in order to outline our plans for 2008 for delivering the Sector Skills Agreement for construction. ConstructionSkills is preparing a second Open Meeting for April 23 at the Vinopolis, London SE1.

The afternoon event will see key addresses delivered by both ConstructionSkills and industry representatives and will conclude with roundtable discussions to help plan future strategies for the skills and training agenda.
