National Construction College director announces
plans to move on after 30 years

National Construction College Director David Boyden has announced that he will be leaving the organisation at the end of August 2008.

Commenting on David’s extensive career with the NCC and his departure, Peter Lobban, Chief Executive, ConstructionSkills, said: “I would like to express my personal thanks to him for all the support he has given to the executive team, the thousands of learners and hundreds of staff members during this time. His calm, unflappable approach has been typical of the way he has led the team. His contribution to the growth of NCC has helped it to become the commercially-driven business it is today.”

David joined the organisation in June 1978 as an instructor. After 30 years with the organisation and having secured the future redevelopment of NCC East, as well as seeing the expansion of the training centre network, he now feels it would be a fitting time to leave what is now the largest specialist construction training provider in Europe.

David will be progressively handing over his responsibilities to his team during the coming months.

The recruitment of a successor will commence immediately.
