Text & online campaign launched to attract best students

The construction industry will create 23,500 professional jobs a year until 2008. To meet this demand we need to encourage the brightest and best students into construction.

Our campaign aims to make future graduates aware of the huge range of technical and professional roles the industry has on offer. Some 600,000 people will be employed in technical and professional roles by the end of this year.

Over 100,000 eighteen year olds will receive text messages from ConstructionSkills as they find out their exam results this week.

Nicola Thompson, CITB-ConstructionSkills’ Communications & Marketing Director, commented: “Using mobile phone text messages to reach students getting their exam results means that we can get relevant information to them where and when they are making big decisions about their future.”

Press releases to highlight the need for more high quality young people to consider studying a construction related degree will be sent to construction trade and national and regional press and broadcast.
